March 2019: Seemingly out of nowhere, Bieber responds to a troll who accuses Bieber of marrying Baldwin to get back at Gomez. His lengthy comment reads:

The fact that yous want to spend your mean solar day dedicating yourself to detest says a lot about you, and if this was some sick ploy to become my attention U to become are incorrect on and then many levels I've seen multiple people say things like this and will never respond again to a message like this considering I don't similar to even give information technology my energy but this is a respond to all immature sick people who send Hailey hurtful messages like " he ever goes back to Selena" or "Selena is better for him" Yous HAVE NO Idea MY LIFE AND WHATs good for me. Hailey is my Bride period if you don't like that or support that that means you don't support me and if you don't support me your not a fan nor a good person."
April 2019: Baldwin also voiced her thoughts on persistent Jelena fans writing, and then deleting, on her Instagram Stories, "Y'all little internet kiddos need to learn how to move on for existent. Nosotros're adults that have amend things to do than waste material fourth dimension explaining something merely and so y'all tin can stop your delusional fantasies. I'm not gonna sit here and let obsessive strangers try to tell me about my ain husband, you wanna talk well-nigh somebodies [sic] husband and so get ur own. G'night!!"
June 2019: Gomez quietly deletes her concluding remaining trace of Bieber on her Instagram, her birthday postal service to him from the year earlier.
September 2019: Just equally quietly, Baldwin likes a photo of Gomez and her pals on Instagram, hinting at possible civility amongst the 3 parties ahead of her second hymeneals to Bieber
Oct 2019: A few weeks after Baldwin and Bieber got married for a second time in a lavish South Carolina anniversary, Gomez dropped her new song, "Lose You to Love Me." With lyrics including, "I needed to lose you to honey me," "I needed to hate you to love me," and "And now information technology'southward goodbye, bye for united states," many believed that the track was a last bye to her on-off relationship with Bieber.

Minutes afterward the vocal dropped, Baldwin posted that she was listening to Summer Walker's "I'll Kill You" on her Instagram Stories. Naturally, fans found a correlation between Baldwin's musical choice and Gomez's new release.
Baldwin afterwards clarified, in a since-deleted Instagram comment, that her post had nothing to do with Gomez's song. "Delight terminate with this nonsense," Baldwin wrote. "There is no 'response.' This is complete BS." Bieber has posted no direct response to the song yet.
